A critical component is to develop job pportunities for individuals in both the public and private sectors. DSS works with businesses in the county to demonstrate how hiring Social Services customers and utilizing our services can benefit them in a positive way. . 2009 Summer Youth Employment Social Services, through the Office of Workforce Investment, will use federal stimulus dollars under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to subsidize summer employment for eligible youth. This program is open to youth 21 to 24 years old and will operate from May to September 2009. Participating businesses will benefit from a 100% wage subsidy for participating youth, who will be recruited by youth agencies and placed in public and private sector jobs throughout the county. Interested businesses and youth should complete and send the online applications to determine eligibility.
