Check Balance
You can check the balance on your SNAP account on like using the connectebt.com  website or the ConnectEBT mobile app (available at the Apple App and Google Play stores). You can also check your balance by calling, toll free, (888) 328-6399.  The hotline is available in English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Haitian-Creole, Italian, Korean, and Russian, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Lost or Stolen EBT Card
If your Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card is lost or stolen, please take these steps immediately:

  • Contact EBT Customer Service at (888) 328-6399 or on the web at https://www.connectebt.com/ to report your EBT card lost or stolen.
  • Contact us at DSS – by calling (914) 995-3333 or visiting one of our District Offices --to request what is called EBT ARU PIN Restriction. This will ensure that no changes can be made to your account PIN unless they are made by you, with your card in hand, at a DSS office.
  • Request a replacement card and select a new PIN.

Safeguard Your Card -- New EBT Card Lock Feature Is Available
Use the new lock/unlock card feature to help secure your Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card and protect your benefits from scam-related theft. You can lock your EBT card when it is not in use and then unlock the card to make a purchase. Locking your card is easy.

Follow these four simple steps: 

  1. Download or open the ConnectEBT app on your mobile device.
  2. Securely log in to your account andtap the new “Lock/Unlock Card"
  3. Select “Lock My Card Everywhere.”
  4. And click “OK.”

Locking your EBT card will block all purchases, balance inquiries, and transactions. Whenever you go shopping, use the ConnectEBT app to unlock your card and lock it again after you check out
