The Westchester Office of Housing Counsel can help.
From full legal representation in court free of charge to eligible residents, to helping tenants advocate for themselves in and outside court, to help paying your rent, the Office of Housing Counsel can aid you in navigating the court system, connect you with legal services, refer you to appropriate community based organizations, and help qualifying individuals access financial assistance.

If you have an urgent matter, such as a court or hearing date within the next week or court papers requiring a prompt response, please call our Helpline at 914-995-4814 and indicate that you have an emergency.

Advocacy Services
Advocacy service are for matters that have not yet reached the eviction stage or proceedings that do not require legal representation. These may include rent disputes, financial assistance, repairs, issues involving essential services like heat and hot water, and more.
Legal Services
Legal services may include everything from legal consultation to full representation in covered eviction and related proceedings in any court in Westchester County.
Eligibility depends on your household income as well as the type of help you need.
Legal representation in eviction and other covered proceedings is available to tenants or occupants of residential rental premises in Westchester who have legal standing in a covered proceeding, and whose annual gross household income does not exceed 300 percent of the federal poverty guidelines or 60 percent of the county Area Median Income, whichever is higher.
